Former Boston Public Schools Employee Charged with Child Rape, Sex Trafficking and OtherCharges.

This week a former Boston Public Schools employee was accused of grooming and sexually
exploiting teen girls. He has been charged with child rape, sex trafficking and a range of other charges.

John Cokley, 38, a former Brighton High School and MissionSAFE staff member, was arraigned on a 30-count child sex indictment. MissionSAFE is a local nonprofit that works with Boston at-risk youth and their families.

It is alleged that he exploited five high school students through Instagram and then raped two of them over the past year.

Some of the sex crimes he has been charged with include: seven counts of sex trafficking of a child; five counts of aggravated rape of a child; one count of rape of a child by force; three counts of posing a child in a state of nudity; four counts of posing a child in a state of sexual conduct; four counts of enticing a child under 18 into commercial sex; two counts of inducing a minor to sell a controlled substance; one count of dissemination of harmful matter to a minor; possession of child pornography; and purchasing child pornography.

He was alleged to have exchanged naked videos and images over social media, as well as arranging to meet the students to have sex in exchange for money.
