Scott F. Sneddon, PhD

Scott Sneddon, Ph.D. is Of  Counsel at Dhar Law, LLP. Scott provides representation on intellectual property matters including trademark, copyright, patent and trade secret law for clients across industry sectors.  He advises clients on intellectual property strategy, including patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses, as well as helping firms develop corporate IP policy.

Before practicing law, Scott worked for over 15 years in the biotech and pharmaceuticals industries as a scientist and executive at Pfizer Inc. and Genzyme Corp., where he oversaw all aspects of modern drug discovery while developing industry-leading computer algorithms and informatics software.  As an IP counselor, Scott is active in the local technology entrepreneurship community, having recently headed up his own startup in the social networking software space. Scott has a long-standing commitment to sustainability as evidenced by his MakeThePath project for socially conscious consumers, and his focus on the CleanTech sector.

Scott holds a dual Ph.D. in Chemistry and Biophysics from Carnegie-Mellon University and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where he was Senior Editor of the Columbia Journal of Environmental Law.  Scott also holds an undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the Pennsylvania State University.  Scott is a member of the American Bar Association Intellectual Property Section, and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
