Kate Schanz is a legal intern at Dhar Law, LLP and is currently in her third year at Boston University School of Law. Kate has a strong commitment to public service and was recently featured in the Boston University School of Law's January 2012 Pro Bono Newsletter. Kate has also been an active participant in Boston University School of Law's moot court competitions.
Prior to joining Dhar Law, LLP, Kate was an intern at the New England Innocence Project where she assisted in evidentiary research and preparation of memoranda regarding inmates' claims of innocence. Kate has also worked at the Major Crimes Unit of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Boston. In that capacity, she conducted legal research and drafted several memoranda on issues of criminal law for submission to the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Aditionally, Kate hwas a law clerk at the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, where she gained experience in the areas of labor and employment, immigration, torts, and trade.
Before attending law school, Kate graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with Honors, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Law & Society and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
